Okay, so you're probably viewing this thread wondering "Why is this site allowed to jump randomly and abruptly to the past/future?" Well, this thread is here to answer that question.
So, there are two theories on this site as to way I'm allowed to randomly go back and forth between past and future.
So, there are two theories on this site as to way I'm allowed to randomly go back and forth between past and future.
Theory I
A Time Rip. Basically this is the theory that Steven Hawking proposed to create a time machine. It's basically a theory that small particles, smaller than anything, of time are all around us. Basically, holes in time. Mr. Hawking suggested that if we could enlarge this particle, we could time travel. But - he never proposed a theory on how to control it. So basically, our time rip theory here, is that people figured out how to enlarge the particle, but not how to control it. But they were so excited about having it big enough to fit a human being, that they didn't even bother about controlling it. So it got to a point where it was big enough to swallow everyone in the town where all the characters on this site originally lived, and is now transporting them from era to era out of control.
Theory II
Malfunctioning Simulated Reality. Simulated reality is the proposition that reality could be simulated - perhaps by computer simulation - to a degree indistinguishable from "true" reality. It could contain conscious minds which may or may not be fully aware that they are living inside a simulation. In its strongest form, the "simulation hypothesis" claims it is entirely possible and even probable that we are living in a simulated reality. In brain-computer interface simulations, each participant enters from outside, directly connecting their brain to the simulation computer. The computer transmits sensory data to the participant, reads and responds to their desires and actions in return; in this manner they interact with the simulated world and receive feedback from it. The participant may be induced by any number of possible means to forget, temporarily or otherwise, that they are inside a virtual realm. While inside the simulation, the participant's consciousness is represented by an avatar, which can look very different from the participant's actual appearance.
The theory in this site is that all of these people, the characters on the site, had entered themselves in this simulated reality. For some reason or another though, this simulated reality is malfunctioning, causing dramatic time shifts abruptly and randomly.
